Amazing Dream Run

GEELONG harness racing has a new superstar.

The Nathan Purdon trained mare Amazing Dream became the only horse to chalk up multiple Group 1 victories during Queensland’s TAB Constellations Carnival when she took out the $250,000 Blacks A Fake Qld Pacing Championship.

With top Kiwi reinsman Blair Orange in the sulky, Amazing Dream again produced a powerful finishing burst to defeat Rockin Marty and the hot favorite King Of Swing.

Purdon conceded he was ‘hoping to finish in the first three or four’.

“No one thought they could beat King (Of Swing),” he said.

“But she had the gate speed to put her in the right spot and she was good enough to take advantage of it.”

Purdon said the four year old mare will have a three week break in Sydney before returning to his Lara stables.

“Her main aim will be the Victoria Cup and then the Queen Of The Pacific,” he said.

Purdon is undecided whether Amazing Dream heads home for the NZ Trotting Cup or the Inter Dominion in Sydney later in the year.

“There might be a slight leaning towards the Inter Dominion but we will wait and make a decision based on how she is going,” he said.
